Welcome to: Hole Load Of Trouble.

I have put these various pages together in an attempt to share information on all things steam and vintage. The basic plan is simple. I want to offer information through photographs and simple articles and features on the various things you see at steam & vintage events up and down the country. The aim is to educate and record for future posterity, things that are going on now within the preservation scene.

The general basics of the site are based around three main elements. These are:

Our own engine and display, christened ‘Hole Load Of Trouble’ for obvious reasons. I want to bring the fun we have with this collection of clutter to a wider audience, and hopefully generate other people’s enthusiasm.

My extensive photograph collection that dates from the late 1970’s to the present day. It offers an excellent way in which to follow an engines history throughout the preservation era.

A series of articles and links through basic definitions and classification of engine types. The articles are numerous and are always being updated, hopefully giving visitors to these pages an opportunity to find out about some of the facts, figures, stories, usage and history behind the things featured on the copious pages thus far created.

Please be aware that the text written is my own and based on personal knowledge, information received, facts from reference books and from time to time simply made up for my own amusement. My sense of humour doesn’t always fit in or conform with Political correctness and I do not claim to be in any way shape a form an expert on what I am writing about. I have a simple interest and enjoy writing, it’s that simple really.

Updates happen usually on a daily basis in one form or another and can be easily found, so please simply explore the pages thus far created and check back regularly for new additions etc. Input is welcomed as well as comments on the content, so please don’t be afraid to communicate back to me with your thoughts and opinions.

Thanks for visiting, hope you enjoy my efforts and please spread the word.
